About Me

Hi there! I'm Michael. I studied Computer Science at DIT, University of Athens, and have been working on back-end systems ever since. Right now I'm particularly focused on cloud-native development and building services that scale.

I enjoy working across the stack when needed, but back-end engineering and cloud infrastructure are where I feel most at home. I'm always looking for opportunities to build things that are reliable, well-structured, and actually useful.

Java Software Engineer · Agile Actors

Part of a Scrum team responsible for the development of the core back-office insurance systems at Interamerican. Actively contributed to the entire development lifecycle, including Sprint planning, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Prototyped an instrumentation module for the platform, aimed at gaining performance insights and accelerating production incidents resolution.

FEB 2022 - AUG 2022

Back-End Software Development Intern · Quintessential SFT

Responsible for developing and implementing new features for a Backend as a Service (BaaS) platform, streamlining the development of self-hosted web applications. Utilized technologies such as gRPC, GraphQL, WebSockets, Prometheus and Grafana. Engineered solutions for data migration and extension of the PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases for the platform.
